ninthtile.com uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits. It records the pages you open, your rough location from your IP address, and your browser and device type. It does not know who you are, and we do not link it to anything else. You can block it with any content blocker and the site works the same.

The site sets no cookies of its own and has no accounts, forms, or comments.

Our games on the web and inside TikTok

Fox & Seek and any other Ninth Tile game that runs in a web browser outside Reddit, or as a TikTok Mini Game, keeps your progress on your own device. It does not send gameplay to us. There is no account, no email, and nothing to sign up for.

If you play inside TikTok, TikTok may give the game an anonymous player identifier so that your progress and cosmetics can follow you between devices through TikTok’s own storage. We never receive your name, handle, or profile, and the game asks for this only after you have finished your first board. You can decline and keep playing.

Ads inside the game, where they appear, are served by the platform that hosts it (TikTok or the web portal). That platform’s privacy policy governs those ads. Hints, undo, restart and check are always free and never depend on an ad.

Fox & Seek on Reddit

Fox & Seek also runs inside Reddit posts, on Reddit’s Developer Platform. Ninth Tile LLC makes the game; Reddit hosts it.

When you play while logged in to Reddit, the game saves your puzzle progress (such as the Levels you have solved and whether you settle foxes with a double-tap or press and hold), your Daily results (your time and stars for each day you solve), your day streak and Streak Savers, and, for the streak leaderboard, your Reddit username and your streak. It saves this under a storage key that contains your Reddit user ID, in storage that Reddit provides to the game, kept separately for each community that runs it. We use it only to keep your place, count your streak, and show the leaderboard.

If you play while logged out, nothing is saved on Reddit’s side: your progress stays in your browser, and a new version of the game can clear it.

Your username and streak appear on the leaderboard of the community where you play. The rest is visible only to you, in the game.

Your saved game is deleted automatically 30 days after you last open the game, and each time you open it while logged in the 30 days start again. Each day’s leaderboard is deleted automatically within 30 days of that day. If you delete your Reddit account, the game can no longer open your save, and it is deleted automatically 30 days after your last visit. Questions about anything the game stores go to the r/FoxAndSeek moderators.

We never sell or share this data. The Reddit version shows no ads, runs no analytics, and makes no requests to any server outside Reddit. It never asks for your email, real name, location, or anything you type. The Share button opens your device’s share sheet, or copies your result when there is none; nothing is posted unless you choose to post it. Reddit requires its users to be 13 or older, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger. Reddit’s own privacy policy covers what Reddit itself collects.

Our iOS apps

Each app describes what it collects in its own settings screen and in its App Store privacy label. None of them sells or shares data, and none of them tracks you across other apps or websites.

Fox & Seek on iPhone

Fox & Seek sends anonymous usage analytics through TelemetryDeck: what happens in the game, such as a puzzle started or solved, plus the app and device version and a hashed identifier that is not linked to you. Analytics never include your name, email, Game Center identity, puzzle solutions, or anything you type. You can turn analytics off in Settings, and the game plays the same.

The rankings are optional. If you choose to join them, the game uses Game Center to know who you are. It stores your Game Center nickname and score in the game’s iCloud leaderboard, plus a Game Center player ID that keeps entries apart and is never shown to other players. Other players see your nickname and score. You can hide any player from your own rankings, and report a name to us from the same menu.

Your progress and collection stay on your device. The game has no ads, sells nothing, and does not track you.

Keeping and deleting your data

TelemetryDeck keeps Fox & Seek’s anonymous analytics with no fixed end date, and says it expects to delete them after 7 to 10 years. You can turn analytics off in Settings at any time.

Your leaderboard entry is kept until you leave. To leave, open the Leaderboard and tap Leave the leaderboard. That removes your name and scores from it.

To ask us to delete anything else, write to hello@ninthtile.com.

The services Fox & Seek uses, TelemetryDeck for analytics and Apple for Game Center and iCloud, protect this data at least as well as this policy does.

Children

Our games are made for everyone. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, write to us and we will delete it.
